Sofia Speroni

A short bio

As a master's student in Information Studies (Data Science) at the University of Amsterdam, Sofia Speroni brings an interdisciplinary foundation spanning computational social science, data analysis, and research design. With a background in projects ranging from machine learning and NLP to UX research and policy analysis, she is drawn to work that sits at the intersection of data science and real-world societal impact. Sofia current thesis research sits at the intersection of data science, biology, and public health. Working with large-scale UK Biobank cohort data. Sofia is developing an integrative framework that brings together lifestyle, environmental, and multiomic data to investigate the determinants of longevity and healthy ageing. Her work seeks to move beyond purely genetic explanations of ageing by capturing the complex interplay between who we are, how we live, and how our bodies respond, with the ultimate goal of contributing to a more complete, data-informed picture of what it means to age well.
