With a background in Information Sciences at the University of Amsterdam, Roman developed a broad, interdisciplinary perspective across multiple fields. This programme, sitting at the intersection of technology, data and society, sparked his interest in work that bridges disciplines. For his thesis, he contributed to the FAIRDatabase, an open-source database for human microbiome data, by developing a visualization module that enables researchers to explore complex datasets intuitively. This project reflects his drive to build tools that make data more accessible and useful across different fields of research.
